Marking
1.
Acquire the OHP marking sheets for each test.
2. Place the sheet on top of the first test and mark the correct responses.
3. Tally up the correct responses. Don’t bother to mark out the incorrect responses.
4. Convert the raw score to a percentage score as per instructions on the Benchmark sheet.
5.
Add the three percentage scores for a total out of 300 for each subject.
6. I take the three test papers for each student and staple them together before filing them in class groups.

Interpretation of results
1.
Once the results are entered onto the Excel file I highlight in red any scores which are below the benchmark.
2. Any score which is greater than the previous score I shade the box green… irrespective of whether it is above or below the benchmark.
3. Any score which is excessively below the benchmark I shade in yellow.
4. Any student who has all three scores below the benchmark, I highlight in a darker shade. Such students are in need of focused help.
5. Add the three percentage scores to obtain a total score.
6. Add the three benchmark scores.
7. Find the difference between the TOTAL student score and the benchmark score to arrive at a score showing whether they are  working above or below benchmark and to what extent.
8. In the SEPTEMBER tests the difference between the two TOTAL scores is a measure of the improvement or otherwise of the student.
